Touro University Nevada Offers New Online Degree: Doctor of Education with a Concentration in Jewish EducationTouro University Nevada School of Education is proud to offer an online Doctor of Education (EdD) in Education Administration and Leadership with a Concentration in Jewish Education program, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of educators within Jewish educational settings. The concentration is intended to allow Jewish educators to become more knowledgeable in their field of Jewish Education for Jewish Day Schools while also gaining the administration and leadership skills needed for getting into a leadership role within their profession. The inaugural class is scheduled to begin early July 2026; applications will be accepted until June 26.“I am so thrilled to welcome this new cohort of students and accompany them as they shape the future of Jewish learning and community life,” said Dr. Patricia Henry, Director of the School of Education. “This is a groundbreaking program that was uniquely crafted to give graduates the ultimate combination of skills to propel them professionally. “ The program is structured for working professionals, a flexible program integrates coursework and dissertation research, allowing students to focus on topics meaningful to their career. With low student to faculty ratio, small cohorts, and just over three years to complete the program offers courses taught by experts in their field including Jewish scholars for the specialized concentration courses while offering a schedule honoring the Jewish holidays. Graduates will be empowered to shape meaningful organizational change and generate research that elevates Jewish education and strengthens community practice. “The field of Jewish Education and in particular Yeshiva Day School Education continues to rapidly expand. The need for staff in all areas has grown exponentially,” added Dr. Jeffrey Lichtman Assistant Professor and Lucille Weidman Program Chair, Jewish Childhood Education and Special Education. “This new Touro program will fill a significant void in well preparing and producing the school leaders that our Jewish Day Schools so badly need for both today and the future.” “By preparing visionary educators and leaders, this EdD program strengthens the fabric of our communities and ensures that Jewish learning continues to thrive for generations to come,” shared Dr. Patricia Salkin, Provost & Chief Academic Officer. “It is essential that Jewish professionals have access to world‑class, readily available training that fosters principled leadership and strategic insight.” The new EdD concentration is one of the programs available offered by Touro Nevada’s School of Education, which offers the online EdD for educators or health professionals seeking advancement within educational settings.
