Indiana Declares December 15 as Boys & Girls Clubs Day

Governor Mike Braun has officially proclaimed December 15, 2025, as Boys & Girls Clubs Day in the State of Indiana, recognizing the essential role that Clubs play in preparing Hoosier youth for bright futures through safe, structured, and mentoring-rich environments. This proclamation honors the statewide Boys & Girls Clubs movement, including 30 local organizations serving well over 180,000 youth across more than 185 clubhouse locations.

Indiana has a significant youth population, with 1.1 million youth ages 6–17, and one in five living in poverty. For every child enrolled in a high-quality after school program, three more still lack access. Investments in youth development yield substantial returns, generating an estimated $10.32 in earnings and cost savings to communities for every dollar invested in the Boys & Girls Clubs model.

To mark Boys & Girls Clubs Day, Indiana’s Clubs will participate in a coordinated social media celebration on December 15, sharing stories of impact, statewide campaign materials, and encouraging Hoosiers to support their local Clubs.

“We are deeply indebted to our Indiana leaders, and Governor Braun, for their long-term support of Boys & Girls Clubs, and for prioritizing Hoosier youth. It is because of active partners like Governor Braun that we can make such an impact statewide.” – Matt Watrous, Government Relations, Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Indiana’s Boys & Girls Clubs align closely with the state’s new diploma requirements and workforce development priorities, ensuring young people are prepared to succeed in school, career, and life. The statewide network provides academic support, mentorship, health and wellness programming, leadership opportunities, and safe spaces that foster belonging and resilience.

Locally, Boys & Girls Clubs of Marshall County is proud to join in this celebration, sharing the impact of our programs and the stories of youth we serve every day. To participate, Hoosiers are encouraged to follow their local Club on social media, share their own Club stories, and support the vital work taking place in communities across Indiana.
