Event Name:
Conversations with Anne
Description
Middle school students from the surrounding region will see Anne Frank Center USA’s production of “Conversations with Anne,” a one-act solo show that brings excerpts of Anne Frank’s diary to life, on Tuesday, April 7 at Tibbits Opera House.
“Conversations with Anne” is a one-act solo show that provides students with a uniquely personal glimpse into Anne’s time in hiding. After the performance, the actor playing Anne will answer questions from the students, allowing them to engage directly with the character to deepen their understanding of Anne’s experience and the historical events surrounding the Holocaust. The play serves as a great introduction to students who are just getting acquainted with Anne and her diary.
The Anne Frank Center USA was established in the 1950s as a way to preserve the legacy of Anne Frank. Its mission remains firmly rooted in Anne Frank’s enduring legacy – a message of hope and resilience to empower the next generation. The Anne Frank Center USA offers workshops, theatre performances, community initiatives and seminars to help young people learn from history, challenge prejudice and become courageous change makers.
“Conversations with Anne” will have two performances at Tibbits Opera House on Tuesday, April 7 at 9:15am and 1pm. The 9:15am performance is for students only. The 1pm performance will be open to the public, although reservations are required. School officials interested in having their students attend this event are encouraged to contact the Tibbits Administrative Office at 517.278.6029 to reserve tickets.
