An award-winning film director, producer, writer, and actor known for her dynamic storytelling and dedication to bringing overlooked narratives to light. As president of Women in Film SF Bay Area, she empowers and elevates women in the film industry, fostering a supportive community for female filmmakers. In 2002, Rubio founded East Meets West Productions, a venture focused on impactful filmmaking. Her critically acclaimed film "East Side Sushi" won 16 film festival accolades and achieved widespread distribution through Samuel Goldwyn Company, Sony Home, HBO North America, and Netflix.

Her artistic work also includes films like "Too Perfect," "Six Sex Scenes and a Murder," "Soledad Is Gone Forever," "Oakland B Mine," "Del Cielo," "Everything Is Temporary," and "Impression." Her films are available on platforms such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Apple TV. Rubio has also directed the documentary "The True Story of Tamara de Lempicka & The Art of Survival," which premiered to sold-out crowds at the Mill Valley Film Festival and was featured in a retrospective exhibition at the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. She also offers tutoring and mentoring services.
