The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio
Home

The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio was founded through the determination and compassion of a small group of parents committed to building a brighter future for their children living with epilepsy. What began as a modest support group at the former Medical College of Ohio, now known as the UToledo Medical Center, quickly grew into a trusted and enduring community resource. By June 1977, this dedicated group had formally established the organization, laying the foundation for what is now a leading center of support, advocacy, and care in the region.

Today, nearly five decades later, The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio continues to expand its impact by serving individuals with epilepsy as well as those with developmental disabilities, recognizing the close connection between these communities. With a mission rooted in inclusivity and empowerment, the Center offers comprehensive services designed to improve quality of life, foster independence, and provide meaningful support, ensuring that every individual, regardless of diagnosis, has access to the care and resources they need to thrive.
