The Rotary Club of Johnston is a community organization that meets weekly for fellowship, breakfast, and presentations by community leaders. Dedicated to the motto "Service Above Self," the club is part of a global network of 1.2 million members who unite to create lasting change locally and internationally. Their initiatives include promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.
The club actively engages in various local service initiatives, such as park cleanups, supporting the Johnston Public Library's Summer Youth Reading Project by donating funds and bagging books for disadvantaged children, and volunteering with the Urban Bicycle Food Ministry for food preparation, packing, and delivery to help those in need. They also organize an annual Charity Golf Tournament to raise funds for local beneficiaries like Johnston Partnership and Dorothy's House.
