Fundamental Needs, based in Cortez, Colorado, is dedicated to empowering underserved communities by addressing critical gaps in clean water, electricity, education, and economic opportunities. Through hands-on training, workforce development, and entrepreneurship programs, we provide individuals with the tools and resources necessary to overcome systemic barriers and build sustainable futures. By combining practical skills with innovative solutions, we create meaningful opportunities that uplift communities and foster long-term resilience.

Our initiatives include the Oasis Project, which installs off-grid water and solar systems on the Navajo Nation while training and employing high school students in renewable energy and plumbing. Looking ahead, the Cortez Makerspace launching in 2025 will serve as a hub for workforce development, offering training in trades, technology, and entrepreneurship to support local industries. Additionally, our Youth Entrepreneurship Program equips students with business skills, mentorship, and real-world experience to create ventures that address local challenges. At Fundamental Needs, we are committed to building solutions by the community, for the community, ensuring lasting impact through education, innovation, and economic empowerment.
